Arsenal are monitoring Borussia Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko ahead of a possible move, according to transfer expert Graeme Bailey.

The German will be out of contract at the Signal Iduna Park at the end of the season, and having not yet committed to fresh terms, his future is currently up in the air.

Premier League clubs Newcastle and Chelsea have been the two leading candidates from the top flight so far, though a whole host of other sides now appear to have joined the race for the 18-year-old.

Speaking to TEAMtalk, Bailey name-checked the Gunners as one of the teams interested in landing Moukoko on a free later in the summer.

“I understand that Dortmund are facing up to the prospect of losing him now as their offer to him is way off what he wants or indeed what he can get elsewhere.

“It is no surprise that Premier League clubs are virtually queueing up to land him. Chelsea and Newcastle have both made offers, we know that, but they are not alone. I am told Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United are all keeping abreast of the situation and are ready to come in.”

TIF thoughts on Moukoko to Arsenal…

Moukoko has a remarkable record in the final third at such a young age so it would be a massive coup for Arsenal should they be able to fend off their competitors to sign him.

The Nike-sponsored athlete clocked up an unbelievable 106 goal contributions in just 56 appearances for Dortmund’s U17s, giving the definition of prolific a whole new meaning.

Moukoko also shares the same agent as current Gunners player Matt Turner, which could give Mikel Arteta’s side a small advantage in this hot pursuit.
