Arsenal have ‘scouted’ Villarreal winger Yeremy Pino ahead of a potential move to the Premier League, according to journalist Ryan Taylor.

The Spaniard’s contract in La Liga isn’t set to expire until 2027 but does have a £70m release clause included, and having previously been linked with a move to several top-flight clubs, could be available for a significantly lower fee.

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the Yellow Submarines may be open to sanctioning the 20-year-old’s sale for a fee of at least £42m, though negotiations for any potential suitor still won’t come easy.

Asked by GiveMeSport whether Barcelona’s Raphinha could be an option for Arsenal having recently been linked again, Taylor name-checked Pino and suggested that several other unnamed players are expected to be considered at the Emirates Stadium.

“There are other names as well that I would expect to enter the fray. Yeremy Pino’s a player that’s been scouted.

“What I would say about him is, although he’s a player with very high potential, he hasn’t quite performed to the heights that he did last season.

“And also, with Danjuma set to depart Villarreal, I don’t think they would really be keen to lose both of those players, despite the encouragement towards (Arnaut) Danjuma to look at other options.”

TIF thoughts on Pino to Arsenal…

The Gunners recently missed out on Mykhaylo Mudryk to rivals Chelsea, but having been hailed ‘special’ by Fabrizio Romano, Pino could be the ideal alternative.

The Villarreal forward currently ranks in the 99th percentile for progressive passes received and non-penalty goals and is a versatile player with the flexibility to operate in six various positions.

£42m is a big sum to pay for a player who’s still in his development stages, but taking into consideration how impressive he is, Edu should splash the cash to bring him to north London.
