Dean Jones has claimed that Ferran Torres, Yeremy Pino and Moussa Diaby are all on Arsenal’s transfer radar.

Arsenal and Mikel Arteta were dealt a major blow over the weekend as their pursuit of top attacking target Mykhailo Mudryk came to an abrupt end.

With Chelsea swooping in and taking the Ukrainian to Stamford Bridge, the Gunners are now back to square one when it comes to their search for attacking reinforcements amid Gabriel Jesus’ injury, but it’s not as if they haven’t been linked with alternatives.

Arteta is still seemingly keen on improving his attacking lineup as links have started to emerge that suggest they are interested in players such as Torres, Diaby and youngster Pino, according to Jones.

The transfer insider has admitted on the Chasing Green Arrows YouTube channel that the trio are of interest to the Gunners.

He said: “If you were to look at other alternatives that could land at Arsenal, which obviously is feasible because they are looking at options right now, people that have been on their radar in recent times are Ferran Torres, who they’ve tried to sign twice; Yeremy Pino, they’ve looked at; and Moussa Diaby they’ve loosely looked at.

“I don’t think Moussa Diaby is the right fit for this moment and positionally; I don’t think they’ll go for him.”

TIF Thoughts on Arsenal’s attacker hunt…

It appears very clear that Arsenal are in need of at least one new attacker this month, as beyond Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah, there aren’t a lot of options that can change a game for Arteta, particularly with Emile Smith Rowe only recently coming back from a long-term injury layoff.

Recent reports, which emerged after Jones spoke about Diaby, have suggested that the Gunners have indeed made contact with Bayer Leverkusen over the French winger, potentially hoping to strike up a deal amid the Bundesliga outfit’s poor season.

However, it has been reported by Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth that Leverkusen are not looking to lose Diaby mid-season and that they could be wanting around £88m, which is what they were quoting clubs during the summer.
