Tottenham Hotspur are not necessarily looking at the Sporting CP wing-back Pedro Porro ahead of the January transfer window.

This has been suggested by the transfer guru Dean Jones who has been speaking to GiveMeSport about Fabio Paratici’s shortlist for the upcoming market.

There have been some reports (via Sport Witness) linking the Lilywhites with a potential move for the Spanish star who is believed to be on the radar of Spurs’ director of football, Paratici.

But there has also been some suggestions claiming Antonio Conte has not been left fully convinced by the 23-year-old amid the links to a potential move to N17.

And Jones believes it will be a case of waiting to see whether Spurs make a move with his understanding being that he is not one Spurs are necessarily eyeing right now:

“I think we have to wait and see what happens in the next few weeks,” Jones said.

“There’s various things that Tottenham need to seek out, and I’m told that it’s not necessarily one that they’re looking at right now.”

TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments…

The Spaniard – hailed as “sensational” – has made an impressive start to the 2022/23 campaign which has seen him return nine assists in his 19 appearances across all competitions (via Transfermarkt).

Would Porro be an upgrade for Spurs?

Yes

Yes

No

No

However, the reports of Conte not being fully convinced of the player do slightly concern us as we have already seen this season how the Italian can outcast a wing-back who he does not favour.

Djed Spence was bought in the summer and it has become apparent he has not been favoured by Conte and, in turn, made just a handful of appearances for the Lilywhites.

So if Conte is not fully convinced, then perhaps Paratici should drop the interest.
