Tottenham Hotspur’s director of football Fabio Paratici is a big fan of the Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie amid links to a potential N17 move.
This has been suggested by Alasdair Gold who has been speaking on the Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham podcast ahead of the January window.
It has been reported the Lilywhites are one of the clubs who have an interest in the Ivorian midfielder following a difficult start to life at the Nou Camp.
Kessie – previously hailed “sensational” – only joined the La Liga giants in the summer from AC Milan, however, he has played just 212 minutes in the Spanish top flight over seven appearances (via Transfermarkt).
Nevertheless, having been linked with him during his time at the San Siro, Gold believes Paratici is a big admirer of the 26-year-old:
(51:20) “Franck Kessie obviously, Spurs long linked with him and Paratici’s a big fan of his as well,” said Gold.
TIF Thoughts on Gold’s comments…
Kessie has had his struggles at Barcelona, however, he was an important member of the AC Milan side that won the title last season.
Who would you prefer at Spurs?
The Ivorian racked up 31 appearances in Serie A and provided a return of six goals and was only shown two yellow cards across those games (via Transfermarkt).
Paratici has previously brought an underperforming midfielder to Spurs in Rodrigo Bentancur and his turnaround has been incredible, it will be intriguing to see if he feels Kessie could be next in line.
