Tottenham Hotspur winger Dejan Kulusevski has been labelled fortunate by commentator Robyn Cowen during Spurs’ Boxing Day draw.

This was during Amazon Prime’s coverage of the game at the Gtech Community Stadium, which saw the Lilywhites come from behind yet again to take a point back to north London.

Having found themselves two goals behind, Antonio Conte’s men were able to finish the game strongly and come close to taking all three points after Harry Kane hit the crossbar with the scores level at 2-2.

Kulusevski played a huge role in the comeback after providing the cross that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg fired home from, however, Cowen was not impressed with the Swede’s antics in the opening 25 minutes.

After fouling Rico Henry, the 22-year-old appeared to leave his foot in the challenge as the Brentford left-back fell to the floor, and Cowen suggested he was fortunate to get away without a punishment:

“Well, he’s slightly fortunate. You can’t really get away with that in the VAR age,” she said.

TIF Thoughts on Cowen’s comments…

Perhaps Kulusevski is slightly fortunate to get away without a booking for this as it did appear that he left his foot in as Henry laid on the floor.

Was Kulusevski lucky to get away with this?

Yes

Yes

No

No

But we think that to suggest it was worthy of anything more than a yellow card is a stretch too far, though it would appear that the referee had missed the incident as it was probably worthy of a booking.

However, Spurs may also feel hard done by some of David Coote’s decisions given Harry Kane was not awarded a penalty just before the Bees doubled their lead.
