Sky Sports pundit Paul Robinson believes that Liverpool will turn their attention to Mohamed Kudus in the January transfer window.

The Reds made ‘informal’ contact with the Ghanaian in the summer according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein

Now according to 90min the Merseyside club are among a number of Premier League clubs interested in signing the Ajax ace following his performances at the World Cup.

Kudus started all three of his nation’s group games scoring two goals and his average 7.53 match rating (WhoScored) was by far and away the highest of his teammates.

Now Robinson has said that the 22-year-old would offer something different to Jurgen Klopp’s side and has compared him to Wilfried Zaha off Crystal Palace.

Speaking to Football Insider he said: “Kudus is a top-class player. He is raw and he has a lot of talent. If you listen to him and read some of his quotes, he thinks he’s better than Neymar. To be fair to him, he went some way to backing up those quotes with the way that he played.

“I have been impressed with him at Ajax. He is direct, can score, and is versatile. He can play anywhere across the front line. Jurgen Klopp likes players like that.

“He also has Champions League experience. I think he would be an excellent addition to any side.

“Liverpool have a lot of quality in that area but Kudus would give them something else. Do you know who I’d compare him to, Zaha at Palace, he is not too dissimilar.”

Hailed as ‘special’ by Ghanaian journalist Owuraku Ampofo, Kudus could most definitely be an exciting addition to the ranks at Anfield.

With Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota out injured, the 21-cap ace’s versatility could prove vital.

Already this season he has operated on the right, through the middle or as a no.10 scoring ten goals and assisting another two in just 979 minutes of action.

The 5 ft 9 gem has proved deadly in front of goal and with an ability to play in a variety of positions, he could prove a very astute signing by the club.
