Presenter Derek Clark has urged Michael Beale to sign Chris Willock in the transfer market after taking over as manager at Rangers.
The Scottish Premiership side recently announced that they had made the 42-year-old their new manager as he takes over from Giovanni van Bronckhorst at Ibrox.
Beale comes over from the English Championship, and it looks like Queens Park Rangers coach Neil Banfield will join him in Glasgow. According to a recent article published by Rangers Review, former Arsenal youngster Willock only joined the west London club in the first place because of Banfield, so he could be keen to join up with the coach in Scotland.
Indeed, member of QPR fansite rgeneration.net, Alex Bullamore, said: “The one thing we know for sure is that Chris Willock came to QPR because of Neil Banfield. He was a big part in that because of his links to him at Arsenal.”
While speaking about it on the latest episode of the Rangers Review, Clark expressed his excitement over the possibility of a transfer.
The podcast host said: “It was interesting to hear he [Bullamore] feels that the boy Willock, who they got from Arsenal, came in because of the assistant coach that’s come up with Michael Beale, and he wouldn’t be surprised if there was murmurings of a move to Glasgow as well.
“I wouldn’t be opposed to that. I think the sticking point would be a transfer fee, and a hefty one at that, if QPR were to sell Willock, who’s a top player for them.”

TIF Thoughts on Chris Willock and Rangers…
Still only 24 years of age, Willock is a key player for his current club and had impressed under Beale so far this season in the second tier. Indeed, the Englishman has six goals and one assist in 13 league games.
Having come through the Arsenal and Benfica academies as a youngster, the winger has now developed into a pretty impressive player, and could be looking to further his career with a new challenge.
If that is the case, it certainly would make sense for him to link up with a few of his former coaches at Rangers. This looks like a possible rumour to keep an eye on.
