Links between Lyndon Dykes and Michael Beale’s Glasgow Rangers will linger, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.
The Scotland international striker has been linked with a move back north of the border, to reunite with Beale, whom he played under during his brief spell in charge at Loftus Road.
The 27-year-old has scored 27 goals in 103 games for QPR, and is useful for his sheer physicality as a target man, standing at 1.88m tall.
Rangers have been linked with a move for the forward as star striker Alfredo Morelos is nearing the end of his contract, and Jones has claimed that the good relationship between Dykes and Beale could mean that it is a link to keep an eye on.
TIF thoughts on Dykes and Rangers…
Should the Scot follow Beale to Ibrox, QPR fans will be further annoyed that their assets are being stripped by the Glasgow club.
Dykes has made 23 appearances this season, scoring six times, but his play has helped QPR in attack, with Chris Willock thriving in particular, and it would be a big loss for the club to lose him mid-season.
He would offer a different dimension to the Rangers attack, but as a direct replacement for Morelos he may not offer enough in front of goal.
The Colombian has scored 116 goals for Rangers since arriving in 2017, and this level of goalscoring ability will be hard to replace, but given that Beale knows exactly what Dykes can offer upfront, he may trust a familiar face to adapt quickly mid-season.
