Journalist Pete O’Rourke believes that Wolves have young forward Lee Kang-in firmly on their radar.

It was previously reported by Spanish sources that the Old Gold were interested in signing the 21-year-old.

Newcastle United have also been credited with an interest in Lee, who is currently in Qatar representing South Korea.

The versatile attacker only moved to Real Mallorca last summer from Valencia and has started all but one of his side’s La Liga games this season.

But speaking to This Is Futbol about Wolves’ potential transfer plans, O’Rourke said: I think Wolves would expect to be busy in this January transfer window.

“Julen Lopetegui has admitted that he does feel the squad needs strengthening, so I think they will be looking at Lee to see if he can help improve their fortunes.”

TIF Thoughts on Lee and Wolves…

Will Wolves be relegated?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

A player with ‘outstanding talent’ – according to his former academy director Luis Vicente Mateo at the Mestalla – the nine-cap Korean ace could well be a shrewd investment given his tender age.

He has scored two goals and weighed in with three assists this season, averaging a direct goal contribution once every two games.

The 5ft 8in ace has already operated in five different positions this season, including across the Mallorca forward line, highlighting the wealth of options he could bring to Molineux.

However, he would perhaps be more of a signing for the future, and given Wolves’ perilous position at present, we feel they should be pursuing other targets who may make more of an immediate impact.
