Wolves star Daniel Podence has sent a possible message to new manager Julen Lopetegui via Instagram ahead of the second half of the season.

Premier League football has been put on pause while the World Cup takes place in Qatar, and after some time off for those who are featuring at the tournament, it seems as though many players are now returning to their clubs for training.

Indeed, the Wolves squad met up again over the weekend as preparations begin for the Lopetegui era. Podence was amongst those returning to Compton and seemed keen to make a good impression.

In a recent social media post, the 27-year-old took to Instagram to share an image of himself back on site while including the message: “Back To Change Things.”

TIF Thoughts on Daniel Podence and Wolves…

Seeing as Lopetegui has come in to replace Bruno Lage, who was sacked in October after winning just once in 15 attempts, it’s safe to say plenty needs to change at Wolves.

Indeed, they currently sit bottom of the Premier League and have just two wins up to this stage in the season, picking up 10 points as a result, having recorded a further four draws and nine losses.

Podence has done his best to help Wolves’ cause, with the winger having just two goals and zero assists in the division – which is enough to make him Wolves’ joint second-highest scorer this season, behind only Ruben Neves’ tally of four.

Evidently, there are plenty of things that need to change at the club under Lopetegui, just as the player suggests.
