Presenter Dave Azzopardi has been left excited after hearing recent rumours linking Wolves with a move for ‘quality defender’ Aaron Wan-Bissaka this winter.
As reported by Express & Star, the defender is likely to be on the move in the January transfer market and Julen Lopetegui’s new side could sign the defender to help improve the defence.
The report explains that Manchester United could well be open to a loan deal with the view of a permanent transfer. It adds that Wan-Bissaka has a contract until 2024, though United have the option to extend it for another year.
In reaction to the news that the right-back could soon arrive at Molineux, Azzopardi explained on the latest edition of Talking Wolves just how happy he would be to see some defensive reinforcements come in.
He said: “In my opinion, I would take Wan-Bissaka, I think he is a quality defender. I think he definitely needs some improvements going forward.
“But to be honest, for Wolves, defensively is where we’ve looked a little bit shaky and I think he would be a real decent addition to add to this squad.
“So we’ll wait and see on that one, but Aaron Wan-Bissaka, I think it’s a viable, a sensible option for Wolves to look at and potentially go with.”

Wan-Bissaka has played just four minutes in the Premier League for United so far this season, and without any appearances in other competitions, it’s no shock to see him potentially on the move this winter.
As Azzopardi mentions, the 25-year-old is certainly known for his quality when defending one-on-one, even if there are still question marks about much he contributes when coming forward to attack.
Seeing as Wolves have a -16 goal difference in the league (the second-worst in the division) and sit at the very bottom of the table, it’s clear that they need to improve in all areas of the pitch.
However, if Wan-Bissaka did come in, he would probably have the quality to help shore up the defence, so it’s easy to see why some fans would be excited about the rumours.
