Natalie Sawyers has claimed that there should be alarm bells around Wolves amidst their shocking efforts in front of goal this season.

Wolves are by far and away the league’s lowest scorers with just eight strikes in 15 games thus far, so it will be absolutely no surprise to see that they are the side propping up the table heading into the second half of the campaign.

The Midlands side turned to a veteran in the form of Diego Costa to try and help their attacking woes this season but all he’s managed to do is score zero goals and pick up one red card which will see him not return until late December.

Sawyers has ripped into Wolves live on TalkSPORT for their inability to score goals this season, she said:

(1:40) “I think if you are looking at any of them [teams at the bottom of the league] then the alarm bells are at Wolves aren’t they [with] eight, not even into double figures yet from 15 games.”

Will Wolves be relegated?

TIF Thoughts on Wolves’ attacking woes…

It is extremely concerning for everyone involved at Wolves, none less so than new manager Lopetegui, that they are yet to reach double figures in the league despite being just a few games away from 2023.

This isn’t just a one-season anomaly either for Wolves as last season they finished as the fourth lowest scorers in the league, despite finishing in the top half of the Premier League, they just had a much meaner defence.

Which former Man United man almost joined Wolves?

To be honest, since Raul Jimenez picked up his serious head injury, Wolves have struggled in front of goal as prior to that incident, the Mexican had been in fine form netting 30 goals in two Premier League campaigns, so a big task for Lopetegui will be getting his Mexican ace back to his best.
