Insider ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United defender Kurt Zouma may return from injury at some point in January.

In the final Premier League match before the break for the World Cup, the French defender picked up an injury and had to leave the field early on in the game.

It was later revealed that he had to have surgery on his knee in late November. Whenever a player has to have any kind of operation, fears will exist regarding just how long they could be out for.

However, it seems as though the West Ham defender could be in line to make a return before too long. Indeed, when talking on The West Ham Way podcast, Ex was able to provide a positive update.

He said: “Zouma’s ahead of schedule, so there’s some positive news. His comeback date has not been defined yet or clarified, but I know that he’s ahead of schedule and the club are optimistic that we will see him in January at some point, which is good.”
