ExWHUemployee has reported that West Ham United will mainly target loan signings in the January transfer window.

Over the past summer, the Hammers were pretty content to spend decent money on a number of big-money signing such as the likes of Lucas Paqueta, Gianluca Scamacca, Nayef Aguerd, Maxwel Cornet, Thilo Kehrer and Emerson.

This time around, however, it seems as though West Ham might be a little bit more conservative with their spending. Indeed, while they continue to be linked with players such as Celtic defender Josip Juranovic and Everton centre-back Michael Keane (via 90min), this latest claim suggests they will only be seeking loans or bargains this winter.

That is according to Ex, who explained on The West Ham Way podcast: “I spoke to a main source on transfers, just to get an understanding of where we are going into January.

“And their words were it will be mainly loan signings. However, if a bargain is presented to us, we could be tempted to move.

“It’ll be particularly interesting to pay attention to a couple of players who are out of contract in the summer.”
