Tottenham Hotspur are capable of signing Ajax star Mohammed Kudus, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The Ghanian was a standout player during their World Cup campaign, scoring twice, and has been in sensational form for Ajax, with ten goals in 21 appearances this season.

The 22-year-old is already on the radar of some of Europe’s biggest clubs and has previously been linked with the Lilywhites.

He could be seen as an option to rotate with attacker Dejan Kulusevski, who has missed a lot of this season with an injury.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, O’Rourke claimed that if Spurs are interested, the player would be open to a move to North London and the offer of Champions League football could play a part.

“Tottenham are a big club and they’ve got Champions League football on offer, which is massive for these players right now,” O’Rourke claimed.

“Kudus had a great World Cup with Ghana and obviously did really well for Ajax in the Champions League as well.

“But now they’re out of that competition, he might decide that he wants to move on to another club.”

TIF Thoughts on Kudus and Spurs…

Kudus, who is a self-proclaimed ‘superstar’, was fantastic in Ajax’s Champions League campaign and has been hailed a “special talent” by the Ghanian media, scoring four and assisting two in six appearances, but with the club finishing third and dropping down to the Europa League, he may look to continue in the top competition this season.

However, the 22-year-old will have no shortage of interest if made available, and he may choose a club where he is guaranteed more minutes, without the likes of Kulusevski and Richarlison to compete with.

Although he is still young, he has shown that he has the outstanding attacking ability to play at the top level, and a big move may be on the horizon even if he stays in Amsterdam beyond January.
