Tottenham Hotspur are believed to have an interest in Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie ahead of the January window – and Fabrizio Romano has suggested the American has a big chance of leaving the Serie A side.

Romano made the claim while speaking on the House of Champions YouTube channel.

It has been reported that Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici have their eyes on the Juve midfielder just two years after the Spurs director of football bought McKennie for the Old Lady.

Starting with the club's £60m summer signing, which of these players could Richarlison be facing?

The 24-year-old will now be making his return to club football having been knocked out of the World Cup over the weekend after losing at the hands of the Netherlands.

However, he may well be holding back from getting settled back into life in Turin, with Romano believing there is the potential for him to leave in the January market.

He said: “I told you about McKennie – at the moment, there are no negotiations, but I think he has chances to go to Premier League clubs. So let’s see what happens in January.”

TIF Thoughts on Romano’s comments…

Interestingly, Paratici is known to be a huge fan of the midfielder having called him a ‘superstar’.

It was an impressive World Cup campaign for McKennie, who certainly caught the attention of many having started all four games for the United States (via Transfermarkt).

Would McKennie be a good signing for Spurs?

In comparison to Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur, McKennie has proven to be less of an attacking threat in the early stages of the season with just one goal and one assist for Juventus (via FBref).

And compared to the Spurs duo’s 18 and 36 successful tackles respectively, McKennie’s defensive input is somewhat lacking, with just seven to his name himself.

However, Paratici and Conte have done a fine job in raiding their former club of Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski, so who are we to judge their admiration for McKennie?
