Alasdair Gold has admitted that he expects Son Heung-min, Pierre Emile Hojbjerg, Emerson and Ben Davies to return for Tottenham Hotspur against Nice midweek.

Spurs are indeed set to welcome Ligue 1 side Nice to north London on Wednesday evening which will be their last friendly game before resuming Premier League action on Monday afternoon in a London derby against Brentford.

Antonio Conte will likely be hopeful that a lot of players will be back and ready to at least play some part on Wednesday, apart from Hugo Lloris and Cristian Romero who took part in the World Cup final last night.

Gold has echoed this on his YouTube channel claiming that the likes of Emerson, Davies, Hojbjerg and Son should all feature midweek.

(48:15) “You’d think Sonny [Son Heung-min] will be involved, Hojbjerg would be involved, Emerson and Davies probably should now after looking like he’s back in like I say for Harry Kane it might be a bit tight but potentially could be involved.”

TIF Thoughts on Spurs’ players returning…

While having a whole load of international stars turning out at the World Cup will have been met with huge pride within the club, there’s always a worry about one of them picking up a serious injury that then impacts their availability for Spurs.

However, Conte will have been delighted to see that none of his players picked up knocks or injuries and have been able to return fully fit and seemingly ready to go against Nice on Wednesday and then Brentford on Monday.

For players such as Hojbjerg and Son to get minutes under their belt in a Spurs system will be hugely important for Conte as he will be demanding all of his players to be fit and firing for the second half of the season as they look to clinch a top four spot.
