Journalist and presenter Danny Kelly has admitted on The View From The Lane podcast that he expects Tottenham Hotspur to make at least two signings next month.
Spurs will head into January looking to repeat their success of 12 months ago when they managed to land impressive duo Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur, with the pair of them now integral parts of the Tottenham team.
Antonio Conte has spoken to the media in the past about how he still needs further signings in transfer windows to come if Spurs wish to push for silverware, so signings should be expected in January.
And TalkSport’s Kelly is expecting at least two players to be handed to Conte next month as Spurs look to secure a top-four finish in the second half of the season.
He said: “This is a complicated transfer window coming up, isn’t it? And I do expect them to buy at least two players because it will be part of this satisfying Conte, won’t it?”
Will Spurs finish inside the top four?
Yes!
No!
TIF Thoughts on Spurs’ January transfer plans…
Fellow panellist Jack Pitt-Brooke had claimed that while Spurs are in talks with Conte over a new contract, there are seemingly issues between the two parties, but handing him new signings next month would likely go a long way to pleasing him.
Spurs have been linked with several players already, including World Cup stars Alexis Mac Allister and Sofyan Amrabat, and they would certainly add quality depth to the ranks as they head into a hectic second half of the season.
However, reports have recently emerged that Daniel Levy has reassured Conte that there won’t be lavish spending in January and that there certainly isn’t a huge amount of money available, which shouldn’t come as a surprise given they spent just shy of £150m during the summer.
Therefore, it could be argued something’s got to give at Spurs and that there could be an all-or-nothing transfer window to come next month.
