Sofyan Amrabat will have clubs queueing up for him according to his brother, Nordin, after Tottenham Hotspur’s move previously failed.

Amrabat has been a key player for his eye-catching Morocco side this World Cup as the Africans top their group and knocked out Belgium in the process.

And he could have been playing his football in north London as Fabrizio Romano claimed the Moroccan was wanted by Antonio Conte.

He’s been dubbed “world-class” by his Morocco head coach Regragui who shares Nordin’s feeling that it’s only a matter of time before he takes the next step from Fiorentina, after a previous move to Spurs fell through last January.

Speaking to De Telegraaf about his brother, Amrabat said: “I am really incredibly proud of Sofyan, if you play so well on such a stage, then you have a lot to offer.

“I think that the top clubs in Europe that have been sleeping have now been shocked. In January, Sofyan was already around Tottenham Hotspur, but there was no agreement on the transfer fee with Fiorentina. I think the interested (clubs) will now be queuing up.”

TIF Thoughts on Amrabat’s comments…

Amrabat has proven to be one of the tournament break-out stars so far with his tenacious play pivotal for Morocco as they topped their group unbeaten.

The 26-year-old completed 91% of his passes, including three tackles and interceptions in their 2-1 win against Canada, after he previously played a crucial role in the 2-0 win against Belgium where he played the full 90 minutes.

This tournament has often been the catalyst for a player’s career and this could be Amrabat’s chance as he stars alongside Hakim Ziyech, Achraf Hakimi and Noussair Mazraoui, who all find themselves at elite European sides.

And when you potentially add him to the current options of Yves Bissouma, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur and Oliver Skipp, he certainly could provide a positive boost to Conte’s side.
