The Presenter of ‘WeAreTottenhamTV’ has given his verdict on Tottenham Hotspur’s links to Sevilla’s Isco.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, the host said that the player has ‘fallen off’ and that Spurs should ‘give it a miss’.
The Sun reported that Tottenham and Arsenal have an interest in signing the Spaniard in the January transfer window.
The 30-year-old joined Sevilla on a free last summer after his deal with Real Madrid ran out in June of this year.
Isco has certainly had a successful career, he’s won the Champions League five times, La Liga three times and the FIFA Club World Cup on four occasions.
The presenter stated (4:26), “He’s [Isco] kind of fallen off it recently hasn’t been the same Isco over the last few years and I think his career seems to be waning a bit. I don’t think right now Tottenham is the best option for him, maybe Conte backs himself to get Isco back to his best, but for me, I will give it a miss and look for other options, especially because he probably would command quite hefty wage packet.”
TIF’s view on ‘WeAreTottenhamTV’s’ comments…
We believe that Isco is someone who at one point was a great talent, but those days seem behind him. Tottenham shouldn’t look to sign him in January.
Isco played 353 times for Real Madrid in all competitions scoring 53 goals and assisting 56 times. Arguably the best season of his career came in the 2013/14 La Liga season. The midfielder provided 15 goal contributions in 32 league games for Los Blancos.
The fact that Real Madrid were willing to let him go in the summer also speaks volumes, he only played 14 La Liga games last season. It’s clear he wasn’t in their future plans.
Since joining Sevilla, he’s only registered 2 La Liga assists and has yet to find the back of the net from 12 league matches.
Considering he only joined in the summer and his recent stats don’t look particularly amazing, Spurs are very unlikely to pursue a move for Isco in the January transfer window
