Injury expert Ben Dinnery has warned that Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane may not be 100% fit amid recent scares.

After England’s 6-2 win over Iran, the Spurs striker left many concerned after he was on the wrong side of a strong tackle.

He came off early in that game and was consequently sent for scans on his ankle. The results passed him fit and he played in the Three Lions’ next two games.

Even so, question marks have lingered over his fitness and Dinnery has recently suggested that there may be a slight issue, even if Kane says otherwise.

Indeed, while talking on Premier FPL Injuries, Dinnery explained: “So he has been cleared, but that’s not to say that Harry Kane is 100% fit.

“Very few players may be coming into this tournament with hand on heart and going, ‘I’m in tip-top condition’.

“They’ve come off a very congested domestic period, a lot of games in there. They will be picking up those little knocks, niggles, and there may be a little bit of fatigue – that’s just given the quick turnaround between those domestic and international fixtures.”

Despite scans saying he is fine and the player also adding to this, Kane has at least hinted that there is some slight issue going on.

Indeed, he told the press (via The Sun): “I’ve definitely played with worse stuff throughout my career.”

That admission seems to back up what Dinnery says about him playing despite not being 100%, but seeing as this is a World Cup, it’s no shock to hear of this.

Even so, it will be a bit of a concern for many Spurs fans and Antonio Conte, of course, as they will want their key man – who has 13 goals in total this term – fully fit for the second half of the season.

They’ll certainly be hoping Gareth Southgate manages the England captain’s minutes carefully in the coming weeks if the Three Lions remain in the World Cup.
