Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is still wearing strapping around his right ankle during England’s World Cup games.

This is according to reliable Spurs journalist Alasdair Gold, who has been speaking about the England captain on his latest YouTube video.

The Spurs striker has made a bright start to the World Cup with three assists to his name already, but he is yet to find the back of the net.

Starting with the club's £60m summer signing, which of these players could Richarlison be facing?

And there have been some concerns about the 29-year-old’s fitness after taking a heavy knock during the opening game against Iran, which forced him to have a precautionary scan.

Despite starting the two games after the injury scare, Gold noticed the England captain revealing some strapping on his ankle in an image which was posted to Twitter by Jack Grealish.

He said: “I think it was Jack Grealish and maybe Declan Rice were doing some kind of photo or something that went on Instagram afterwards.

“And you can see, in the background, Harry Kane putting on his right boot – or taking it off, I’m not sure which way round it was. You can see that funny little strapping that he’s got.

“It’s interesting, because Gareth Southgate said it’s a foot injury, not an ankle injury, but you can definitely see the strapping appears to be around his ankle.”

TIF Thoughts on Gold’s comments…

This may be a slight concern to some at Spurs with there clearly being some issue with the England captain given he is being forced to wear some protective strapping.

So it may be of some relief to see Kane taken off before the hour mark on Tuesday night in order to help him recover after what has been a hectic start to the campaign for the striker.

Kane has played almost every minute for Spurs this season, and with a spot in the top four the target, Antonio Conte will be hoping he does not return to Hotspur Way with any issues.
