Fabrizio Romano has given an update on a possible departure for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, amid links to Bayern Munich.

Bayern legend Oliver Kahn recently claimed that the club are admirers of the Englishman, but Romano has insisted that no talks have taken place with regard to a move.

The 29-year-old is Tottenham’s all-time top scorer in the Premier League, with 195 goals in 295 games, and has netted 12 times in 15 matches this season in the top-flight.

The England captain is currently in Qatar for the World Cup, and despite Bayern’s interest, there has been nothing to suggest he will be on the move once he returns.

“I’ve seen stories about Harry Kane again, but there no changes at all as of now,” Romano claimed in his Daily Briefing.

“Tottenham want to keep Kane and there are no negotiations ongoing, but also nothing would happen during the World Cup of course… so it’s completely quiet as of now.

“Bayern like Kane as Oliver Kahn stated, nothing else.”

TIF thoughts on Kane and Bayern…

Already a Spurs legend, Kane has been consistently operating at a world-class level for years but is yet to win a major trophy in his career.

However, we find it hard to see him leaving north London just yet, particularly when considering that he is on track to eventually overtake Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League record of 260 goals.

He will likely want to win silverware with the club he has been at his entire career, as well as grabbing the record before departing the country, and until that point, he will likely stay at Spurs.

And with Antonio Conte at the helm, it will be interesting to see if the pair put pen to paper on new deals in the coming months.
