Journalist Dean Jones has said that Tottenham Hotspur supporters will be excited by the idea of Ivan Perisic encouraging Marcelo Brozovic to sign for the club.

According to Calciomercato, Brozovic is being eyed as a potential option by both Antonio Conte and Spurs sporting director Fabio Paratici.

The report suggests that the Lilywhites will likely have to stump up £52m in order to make Inter Milan part ways with their midfield enforcer.

And another Italian outlet claims that the Serie A giants are preparing themselves for offers for the 30-year-old in January with a host of European clubs vying for his services.

However, Jones has suggested that Tottenham – who have already successfully raided Serie A under Fabio Paratici – may have an ace up their sleeve in the form of compatriot and ex-clubmate Perisic.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “Spurs fans will love the idea that agent Perisic could help make a signing like this (Brozovic) for sure.”

His current deal is likely Brozovic’s last major payout and with the £184k-per-week brute under contract at the San Siro until 2026 and it would likely take a hefty pay packet to persuade him to jump ship for north London.

Conte has options in midfield having added Yves Bissouma to the ranks in the summer but perhaps recruiting a player of the former Dinamo Zagreb man’s experience could be just what they need to push for honours during the second half of the campaign.

He has been a mainstay in the Inter line-up for the past eight seasons racking up over 300 appearances, 27 of which have come in the Champions League.

We think it would be a major addition to the club but at present, we feel it’s a hopeful one although perhaps Perisic could have an influence on the matter during their time away in Qatar for the World Cup.
