Pundit Tam McManus believes Newcastle United will go big in January and sign multiple players.
Newcastle are currently third in the table after an unbelievable run of form which saw them pick up 22 points from a possible 24, leaving them in a prime position to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in two decades.
The finances will certainly be there should they wish to utilise them, with the Magpies becoming the richest club in the world following their October 2021 takeover.
Following a summer spend of €136.4m (£118.4m), McManus told Football Insider that the Magpies may throw caution to the wind and rack up a potentially expensive January window to fire them over the line.
He said: “I think they will go for it now.
“There are two ways of looking at it. You might think that they have done really well with the players they have so they don’t need to sign anyone.
“Or you could also think about how much better the club could be doing with a few more quality additions. We know the owners want success as quickly as possible.
“I think there is a good chance Eddie Howe will be given a decent kitty to spend. Newcastle don’t really have the strength in depth yet so that is something Howe might look to fix.
“I think it could be a big January on Tyneside.”

It’s been a huge shock to see Newcastle reach the heights they have so far this season considering they were embroiled in a relegation battle this time last year.
Fast forward 12 months and it’s all changed, and a cash injection now could see them finish in the Champions League – or Europe at the very least – in the new owners’ first full season in charge, which would be incredible from a sporting and business point of view.
A Champions League finish would show just how well the project has gone so far and see the long-term goals potentially achieved much sooner, along with increased support and popularity in the Middle East amid their recent trip to Saudi Arabia.
However, it’s nevertheless a risky prospect, with Howe’s side completely together and some players playing out of their skin, and a busy January could compromise the incredible start to the season and stunt momentum amongst the current squad if too many rash changes are made.
