Newcastle United is a more ‘realistic’ destination for the American winger Christian Pulisic ahead of the January transfer window amid links with Premier League rivals.

Speaking on the Saeed TV YouTube channel, journalist Ben Jacobs has been speaking about the possibility of the 24-year-old leaving Stamford Bridge.

Starting with the club's £60m summer signing, which of these players could Richarlison be facing?

There have been some suggestions that the American’s time in west London could be coming to a close given his game time has taken a major hit of late at Chelsea.

But reports have suggested that if he is to leave the Blues, both parties would not settle for a loan switch and would push for a permanent solution.

And with some claiming Liverpool could provide Pulisic with that landing spot, Jacobs has suggested a move to Tyneside is a much more realistic possibility.

He said: “There’s nothing in the Pulisic link [to Liverpool], by the way; I can categorically tell you that it’s all from the agent offering to Liverpool and Newcastle are a more realistic destination – but even they have got their concerns.”

We would be interested to see whether this is a player who Eddie Howe feels could rediscover his best form on Tyneside after a difficult period at Stamford Bridge.

Across the Premier League this season, Pulisic has only played 414 minutes and started just three games where he has been able to provide one goal and one assist (via Transfermarkt).

However, for a player like Pulisic, who has been hailed as a ‘superstar‘ for his performances, inconsistent game time is far from ideal when he arrived from Borussia Dortmund, where he was a regular starter.

Howe’s arrival has helped to revitalise Newcastle, so we do wonder whether he could potentially have the same effect on the American’s career.
