TalkSport pundit Simon Jordan has claimed that Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford isn’t as good as people make out and played down his recent brace for England against Wales.

Rashford opened and closed the scoring for the Three Lions as Gareth Southgate’s men beat Wales 3-0 on Tuesday to finish top of their World Cup group.

But it ultimately didn’t impress Jordan, who claimed that his free kick should’ve been kept out by Danny Ward.

He said: “There has been this perception of Rashford that he’s a certain player at a certain level, and I think really and truly, he isn’t as good as people have made him out to be.

“If they had a decent goalkeeper yesterday, I don’t think he would’ve scored either one of the goals.”

TIF Thoughts on Jordan’s comments…

The 25-year-old has been burdened with a lot after his meteoric rise as a teenager at both club and international level.

Rashford crowned his 49th England cap with his 14th and 15th international goals, with only five English players in history scoring more World Cup goals than his three.

There are also only eight Manchester United players who have scored more Premier League goals than his tally of 63, and at only 25, it highlights how important he’s been already in his career and that he should potentially garner more respect for his ability and what he’s personally achieved so far.
