Manchester United are interested in a move for Jude Bellingham, but according to Fabrizio Romano, any such deal will be complicated.

The Englishman is coveted by some of Europe’s biggest clubs with Real Madrid among the frontrunners for his signature, but Erik ten Hag would love to bring the teenager to Old Trafford.

The 19-year-old, who has been hailed as ‘ridiculously exciting‘, has been outstanding for Borussia Dortmund and England this season, but with a reported price tag of £130m, not many clubs will be able to afford him.

Although a move to United looks highly unlikely given the other clubs that are interested in him, Romano has claimed that they dream of a move for Bellingham nevertheless.

He told GiveMeSport: “For Bellingham, it is more than complicated.

“United dream of Bellingham and, of course, he’s a player they would love to sign, but they know the reality.”

TIF Thoughts on Bellingham and United…

Financially, United should have no problem paying the asking price for Bellingham in the summer, but we think convincing him to join will be the biggest stumbling block for Ten Hag.

Liverpool have also been heavily linked and leading their midfield rebuild may be a more appealing prospect, particularly given their long-standing interest, whilst Real Madrid can offer him near-guaranteed trophy success and a regular role as the heir to Luka Modric.

That said, we think he would be an ideal fit alongside Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes in the United midfield, but a move ultimately looks far from likely to happen at present, and United should look elsewhere rather than getting caught up in what will likely be a lengthy transfer saga.
