The presenter of YouTube channel, ‘Leeds Lately’ is buzzing with the links of Leeds United having an interest in Sasa Lukic.

Calciomercato have reported in recent times that the club are looking to start negotiations after the World Cup. Lukic was part of the Serbia team that travelled to the tournament. However, the European nation were not able to qualify out of Group G, finishing bottom of the table.

However, Lukic was able to impress on the big stage, despite missing out on group stage qualification. He amassed an 88% pass accuracy from his three World Cup appearances, according to Sofascore.

Here’s what the presenter of ‘Leeds Lately’ had to say (2:47): “You’re in the Premier League now and you need to invest in players that can actually have a material difference to your squad depth.

“And somebody like Sasa Lukic to come and sit on the bench and actually start with a lot of games is a great squad depth option for Leeds. At £15m, it’s not a massive amount of outlay for a Premier League side, especially a Premier League side who has lofty ambitions, who was said that we want to set our sights on eventually getting you getting a European place. You have to be making signings like these.”

TIF’s view on Leeds Lately’s comments…

Leeds certainly need to bring in some new recruits come the January transfer window.

The Whites are 15th in the league and are only two points away from the relegation zone. Furthermore, they’ve leaked a lot of goals this season, the fourth most in the Premier League, conceding 26.

The Torino midfielder is an extremely effective distributor of the ball, not just for his country, but for club too. In Serie A this season, Lukic has an 89% pass accuracy and his made zero errors leading to a goal, per Sofascore.

He’s played an impressive number of games for his current side, Torino. Lukic has 163 appearances for the Italian club, he also has 35 caps for Serbia.

At 26-years-old, that’s the type of player that could fit in well with the Leeds squad. Lukic is far from retiring anytime soon, but already has plenty of experience. With the team’s average age being 25.23 (Playmaker), the Serbian could be of real interest to Jesse Marsch.
