Leeds United winger Luis Sinisterra is expected to return to training in the coming weeks after his injury issues.

And presenter Joe Wainman has been left heartbroken by Jesse Marsch’s update on the Colombian in his press conference on Thursday.

Leeds make their return to Premier League action on Wednesday, and it is apparent they will be doing so without the 23-year-old after Marsch’s latest comments:

“While Luis Sinisterra is making great progress and we feel he is on track, we hope he will be back in training in a couple of weeks,” the American said.

First up, which of these World Cup debutants could Leeds go back in for this winter?

Since arriving at Leeds, Sinisterra has experienced limited game time, with injuries plaguing his campaign, while he has just two league goals to his name (via Transfermarkt).

And as Leeds’ struggles continue with another relegation scrap potentially on their hands, Wainman was left seriously unimpressed by Marsch’s update.

Wainman said: “He’s not even going to be training for a couple of weeks yet, brother. So you’re going to be waiting a while, alright? You’re going to be waiting a while on Sinisterra, which is heartbreaking.”

TIF Thoughts on Wainman’s comments…

It is not surprising to hear Wainman as gutted about Sinisterra’s situation as he is given he arrived at Elland Road with serious potential following an impressive campaign with Feyenoord.

And he arrived as the likely successor to Raphinha, who had left a major hole in the Leeds side after his move to Barcelona in the summer.

However, having only been able to make nine appearances in the Premier League so far, it has not been the success story many will have hoped for in West Yorkshire.

With the winger expected to return to training in a couple of weeks, it could mean he may not return until February depending on how his rehabilitation progresses.
