Tony Scott has admitted on the All Together Now podcast that he believes the careers of Everton’s young stars could lie away from Goodison Park.

Everton currently have a lot of players unavailable to Frank Lampard whether that be through injury or international duty and that has meant he had to take several youngsters away on their tour of Australia to fill out the numbers.

Some of them, however certainly did more than just make up the numbers with the likes of Isaac Price and Tom Cannon starring out in Australia, but Scott believes their long-term future could be away from Everton.

Scott has claimed that Everton’s lack of history of bringing through young players into the first team could see fellow youngsters depart in the near future.

(2:05) “It looks as though their careers may be elsewhere, I think one thing I will say before we will talk about these youngsters, is that it’s one thing Everton should be really proud of in terms of the academy and everyone there in terms of the players they’ve produced over many many years.

While Scott doesn’t hold out much hope for some of Everton’s current crop of young stars given the lack of role models and examples for them to follow in recent years, Lampard is certainly willing to give them a chance.

This is because recently he’s spoken with the Liverpool Echo about Issac Price and how he’s now certainly played his way into at least the discussion over a first-team spot during the second half of the season.

However, the longer Everton struggle to pick up form and become desperate for results over playing good football, the harder it could be for youngsters to break through as Lampard will likely be unwilling to risk them in big games where results are the be-all and end-all.
