Aston Villa are not currently in the race to sign Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma, according to journalist Ryan Taylor.
Manager Unai Emery signed the Dutchman when in charge of the La Liga club, and the attacker played some of the best football in his career in his first season at the club, impressing as Villarreal reached the Champions League semi-finals.
However, Taylor has claimed that there is nothing in the rumours linking the former Bournemouth star with Villa.
“Danjuma isn’t one that’s bubbling at the moment. I’ve seen links to him but that’s not the case, although that’s a player that Emery very much appreciated at Villareal,” he told GIVEMESPORT.
TIF thoughts on Danjuma and Villa…
A move could be good for Danjuma to find his best form again, and he could be an excellent signing to add more firepower to Aston Villa’s attack.
A dynamic winger also capable of playing through the middle, he has scored 20 goals in 48 appearances since arriving in Spain, mostly playing on the left wing or through the middle alongside Spain forward Gerard Moreno.
Although Villa seem to be out of the running now, he is a player that Emery knows well, and could keep an eye on going forward.
With Villa 12th in the Premier League, they may fancy their chances at glory in the domestic cups, and if they do sign a player who was once coveted by Liverpool, then it would be a huge statement of intent that the board are willing to back their manager.
