Journalist Jason Soutar has claimed that rumoured Arsenal target Joao Felix has a ‘ridiculous’ price tag on his head as a €120m (£103.2m) figure has been touted.

With Premier League football set to return soon and the January transfer market almost upon us, the Gunners are said to be on the lookout for a new forward.

Indeed, Gabriel Jesus’ long-term injury will surely make some sort of attacking addition a certainty this winter, and Atletico Madrid ace Felix is one name that has been mooted in the press.

However, having seen that a deal could cost Arsenal over £100m,  Soutar took to Twitter to slam the extortionate fee.

He wrote: “I’m not really set on Mudryk. He has less than 30 senior appearances in his career. There’s something about him I don’t like. Felix is a better fit but €120m is ridiculous.”

TIF Thoughts on Joao Felix and Arsenal…

Atletico Madrid paid a club-record €126m (£113m) fee to sign the former Benfica star back in 2019, so it would make sense for them to want a fair chunk of their money back from any sale.

However, seeing as Felix is publicly known to be keen on an exit in the near future, it may be hard for the Spanish club to quite get the price they might be hoping for.

Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk, but he could also cost over £100m if the latest talk is to be believed, so it may be difficult for the Gunners to land either player this winter.

Sadly, though, the injury to Jesus may yet force them into a deal even if it means paying a little over the odds.
