Gabriel Jesus’ personal trainer, Andre Cunha, has posted an Instagram update on the Arsenal star as he continues rehabilitation following his knee injury.

Jesus is currently recovering after suffering medial ligament damage during the World Cup.

The 25-year-old started Brazil’s dead-rubber group game against Cameroon before he was forced off with the injury after 64 minutes, ending his World Cup and leaving Arsenal sweating over his fitness.

It was reported by The Mirror that the injury will keep him out for a minimum of 12 weeks after it was confirmed surgery was necessary, increasing his sideline stint from weeks to months.

And Cunha recently posted an Instagram update on the striker’s rehabilitation, showing the Gunners ace in a positive mood:

The post was captioned: “A great journey awaits us!

“Tough, hard and uncomfortable, you bet it is! Transformative? You bet!

“Fueling the heart with a vision of the future, living in the present and celebrating achievements in the short term is essential.

“Goals set and goals reached, and so it will be, week after week, always doing a little more.

“Let’s go, we are already closer.”

TIF Thoughts on Cunha’s post…

With Arsenal currently sitting at the Premier League summit and with a serious chance of winning their first league title since 2004, Jesus’ injury is a massive blow.

The £45m summer signing has been arguably the Gunners’ most important player, with his average league rating of 7.59 from WhoScored the highest of the squad, as well as his five goals being the joint second-highest, while his seven assists lead the way at the club.

He’s simply been the catalyst that’s seen Arsenal turn from top-four hopefuls to title chasers in just six months, so his impact cannot be understated and it’s imperative he is raring to go once he returns.

Mikel Arteta can’t afford to see his star man rush himself back from injury with still plenty of the season to play, and Cunha potentially holds the key to the Gunners’ title bid as he’ll continue to work with the 25-year-old and monitor his recovery – and this image certainly seems like an early positive sign.
