Journalist Dean Jones has suggested that Arsenal are now having second thoughts about bringing Youri Tielemans to the club.

The Gunners have long been linked with a move for the midfield maestro with previously claiming that those at the Emirates Stadium are long-term admirers of the Leicester City playmaker.

Tielemans is out of contract at the King Power Stadium at the end of the season and CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs has said that the 25-year-old has his “heart set” on a move to north London.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has also reported that a switch to Mikel Arteta’s side is appealing to the Belgian ace but Jones has now cast doubt over a potential transfer.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I think they need to make sure that he’s still the same player that they thought he was when they were beginning their pursuit.

“This is a year-long thing now since Arsenal have been looking at Tielemans.

“There’s obviously some reservations around it given they didn’t go and sign him in the summer when they could have.”

Dubbed a top, top-class player” by Pep Guardiola it was surprising to see the north London club choose to bring in Fabio Vieira for £34.2m in the summer.

The Portuguese dynamo has only made one Premier League start since joining with Watts admitting that he is yet to adapt to the English game.

Considering Tielemans already has 135 Premier League appearances recruiting him for free would seem like a no-brainer.

Hailed as ‘one of Europe’s best midfielders‘ by his current manager Brendan Rodgers he could be a tremendous addition to the squad and could well push for a starting place upon his arrival should he join
