Presenter Ger Lynch has said it would be ‘amazing’ if Stuart Dallas is back playing for Leeds United before the end of this season.

The Northern Irishman has been out of action since his season abruptly ended back in May when he broke his leg against Manchester City.

Six months was the original timescale for his recovery having suffered a fractured femur but he underwent another procedure back in October as confirmed by Jesse Marsch.

With a long-term issue, it is hard to estimate his return date but talking about the idea of featuring in the current campaign, which looks likely after Beren Cross’ update, left Lynch buzzing.

Speaking on The View YouTube channel he referred to Dallas as a ‘machine’ and said: (21:24) “Back on the grass ahead of schedule as he should be as it’s Stuart Dallas.

“It looks like he might get back in the Leeds squad for the end of the season which would be amazing after breaking your femur.”

The extremely versatile Cookstown man has become a fan favoutie in west Yorkshire during his eight seasons at the club.

He has made 267 appearances for the Whites and started all 34 Premier League games last year before sustaining a freak setback.

Only Liam Cooper and Raphinha posted a higher average match rating in the top flight (6.78) according to WhoScored among Leeds players who made more than one appearance.

He has played in eight different positions as per Transfermarkt for the side and to have him back on the field could be crucial with Leeds lingering at the wrong end of the table again this term.
