Fabrizio Romano has given an update on Real Madrid’s pursuit of Brazilian wonderkid Endrick, with Los Blancos pushing hard for a deal.

The 16-year-old has been touted as one of the biggest talents in South America and has scored nine goals in 14 senior appearances for Palmeiras.

Speaking on The Here We Go podcast, Romano reiterated that Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea are the three clubs in the running for his signature and that Carlo Ancelotti’s side are heavily interested in a deal.

“For Endrick, keep an eye on Real Madrid. In the last few weeks they are pushing, they want to sign Endrick, they are insisting to sign Endrick.

“So Real Madrid are pushing, PSG made an official bid turned down by Palmeiras, but PSG and Chelsea remain in the race, so it’s Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid as we said weeks ago, but now I can say Real Madrid are really pushing.

“They are trying to communicate to Endrick, to his father Douglas, to his agents, to his family, that they consider Endrick a top player for the first team in 2024, so they want him to arrive to Europe and be immediately part of Real Madrid’s ambitious plans for the future.

“It’s up to the player, but negotiations are ongoing.”

TIF Thoughts on Endrick…

Whilst the teenager looks like a top talent, there is already an extraordinary amount of pressure on his young shoulders, and we think this would skyrocket should he arrive as a first-team player at the Santiago Bernabeu.

With Karim Benzema ageing, he could even be the long-term replacement for the Ballon d’Or winner and start through the middle, with fellow Brazilians Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo either side of him.

It would be a bold move and a big risk to spend a hefty sum on such a young player, but if he fulfils his potential, he could be Real Madrid’s starting striker for well over a decade.
