Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte departed for the World Cup break a very happy man following the opening stages of the Premier League campaign.

This has been suggested by Alasdair Gold who has been speaking about the Italian’s future in north London on his latest YouTube video.

Conte’s long-term future has still not been tied down to Spurs with his deal set to expire at the end of the 2022/23 campaign having only joined 12 months ago.

There is a belief that Spurs hold a one-way option on their behalf to extend his stay in N17 by another 12 months amid concerns over his future at the club.

And despite a string of disappointing results before the World Cup break, Gold has been told Conte is pleased with the situation at Spurs:

(32:30) “From everything I was hearing behind the scenes before they had this break, he was in a good place, he was a happy chap.”

“Maybe he’s been able to take a step back from the things that were maybe perhaps frustrating him about Spurs this season, and also reinforce his thinking about things he wants in the January window and the second half of the season.”

TIF Thoughts on Gold’s comments…

We think Spurs fans should be fairly relaxed about Conte’s situation at Spurs given the situation they find themselves in after the World Cup break.

Do you expect Conte to sign a new deal?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Sitting in the top four, into the final 16 of the Champions League and with the January window on the horizon to fix any potential issues he may have concerns about.

As long as Spurs can come out of the break injury-free, then we think there should be a positive mood around the Hotspur Way training ground next month.

And if Spurs are able to tie Conte down to a new deal before the end of the campaign, then there is no reason Spurs fans should not be optimistic for what is to come in the future.
