Juventus are set to offer a fee of €50m (£44m) plus bonuses for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, which claims there is a feeling the Serbian will soon leave the Stadio Olimpico.

The midfielder seems to be a wanted man. Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport (via Sports Mole) claimed Chelsea were interested in a swap deal for Milinkovic-Savic involving either Ruben Loftus-Cheek or Emerson Palmieri back in the summer.

And while Lazio president Claudio Lotito has claimed that he would only entertain bids twice as large as Juve’s potential offer, it does feel as though there is a deal to be done.

TIF Thoughts on Juventus’ fee for Milinkovic-Savic…

Interestingly, it has been reported that Juventus have already held a meeting with the agent of the player, who has been hailed as a ‘superstar’.

We believe that the Serbian is the type of player Juventus need. The club is now on a roll, winning their last five league games in a row.

However, in the Champions League they were, to put it lightly, awful. The Old Lady only won one game and lost the remaining five, including a 2-0 loss to Israeli side Maccabi Haifa in a massive upset as they stayed in Europe by the skin of their teeth.

Bringing in a midfielder like Milinkovic-Savic would really boost their midfield. He has shown he can get goals – the Serbian has three to his name this season and netted 11 times last term.

They still have Paul Pogba to return from injury, but with the Frenchman out with a knee injury, the potential arrival of Milinkovic-Savic could be what Juventus need to succeed in the Champions League next season and perhaps push for a Europa League tilt.
