AC Milan’s Simon Kjaer has heaped praise on teammate Theo Hernandez, with the Frenchman impressing during his World Cup campaign.

The 25-year-old has provided an assist in both of France’s matches so far, as the holders became the first team to reach the knockout stages in Qatar, and his Danish Milan teammate has recently praised his quality.

“Theo is crazy, a great player. I honestly look around me and I don’t see many like him in the world, in his position,” Kjaer told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Theo has running, physique, shooting, he can do many things on the pitch. He’s like few others.”

TIF Thoughts on Theo Hernandez…

We agree that the former Real Madrid defender has been outstanding of late, and given his form, he is rightly considered one of the best in the world.

A Serie A champion from last season, he first appeared in this World Cup campaign as a substitute for his brother Lucas, who was forced off with a season-ending injury against Australia.

Impressing both at the back and in attack with two outstanding assists and helping France to two victories, he has proven a worthy replacement and arguably should have been the first choice from the start of the tournament.

Hernandez ranks in the top 15% of European full-backs for attacking penalty-area touches, dribbles, goals and shot-creating actions, highlighting his ability as a top-class player in his position – and he will be hoping to continue this form as France advance to the next stage.
