Charlie Adam doesn’t see anyone else getting the Rangers job but Michael Beale.

The former Bears midfielder offered his take amid the club’s search for a new manager.

Trailing their city rivals Celtic by nine points at the top of the domestic table, the Gers took the decision to relieve Giovanni van Bronckhorst of his duties on Monday morning.

With sporting director, Ross Wilson on the hunt for a successor Steven Gerrard was installed as the initial favourite to return to Ibrox but his assistant during that spell, Beale, is now the frontrunner and Adam isn’t looking past the QPR manager who has already rejected advancements from elsewhere this season.

Speaking on the PLZ Soccer YouTube channel he said:

(19:19) “Turning the Wolves job down must have been difficult for him but I think the lure of Rangers will be difficult for Michael to turn down.

“Got a big connection with the owners, with the board, he was at a game recently as well and he’s openly said that he would one day like to return as manager of Rangers so he has that ambition but it’s now up to the board and Ross to finally make the decision to see who will take Rangers forward.

“I think it’s written in the stars for Michael Beale to be the manager.”

TIF Thoughts on Adam’s comments…

Do you want Michael Beale as manager?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Despite Beale enjoying a fruitful period at the Light Blues before and helping stop Celtic’s quest for ten titles in a row, it could be a bit of a gamble to hand the reins to the 42-year-old.

He is currently in his first senior managerial role at Loftus Road and had the R’s at the top of the Championship before speculation surrounding his future arose.

The team’s form has since fallen off a cliff and while the west Londoners are still in the play-off chase it is a big step up to be coaching at a club like Rangers in front of 50,000 fans and potentially against Europe’s elite therefore we think the Glasgow giants could be looking at other options.
