Rangers: Tam McManus believes Glen Kamara has fallen out with Giovanni van Bronckhorst

|

Former SPFL striker Tam McManus feels that Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara might have fallen out with Giovanni van Bronckhorst amid his drop-off in form.

The midfielder has found himself out of favour at Ibrox this season, starting just three times in the Scottish Premiership.

Only John Souttar and Kemar Roofe have averaged a lower match rating than Kamara (6.09) according to WhoScored, in what has been a season to forget so far for the Finland international.

Perhaps the speculation surrounding his future is taking its toll, but it is clear that all is not right with the 27-year-old.

Speaking to Ibrox News, McManus said: “There definitely looks to be something wrong with him. Whether he’s fallen out with the manager or not, I don’t know.

“But his performance levels have dipped dramatically – along with a lot of other Rangers players.

“It wouldn’t surprise me if he has fallen out with the manager because he looks as if he’s playing that way; he looks as if he’s sulking in his performances.

“There might be something in that, but he’s just another Rangers player who’s been disappointing this season.”

Kamara played a pivotal role as the Light Blues secured their 55th league title a couple of seasons ago.

He actually enjoyed the most productive campaign of his career to date last term, scoring three goals and assisting three, but this season has certainly been a struggle.

The Arsenal academy graduate has played an average of 37 minutes per appearance, and with his contract running until 2025, now seems like an opportune time to cash in on the 48-cap ace.
