Journalist Jonny McFarlane has backed Glen Kamara to reignite his Rangers career following Michael Beale’s appointment.
Kamara has started just three Scottish Premiership matches this season amid speculation surrounding his future at Ibrox.
Former SPFL striker Tam McManus recently suggested that the midfielder may well have fallen out with former boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
The 27-year-old played a pivotal role as the Light Blues secured their 55th league title a couple of seasons ago, and with a familiar face now returning to the dugout, McFarlane feels Kamara could benefit.
Speaking on the Rangers Review YouTube channel, he said: “I think you’ll see an immediate improvement in the Rangers midfield. I think you’ll see Glen Kamara reinstated to that left centre-midfield slot that he was so effective [in] under Steven Gerrard previously.”

Should Rangers sell Kamara?YesNo |
Kamara was an established figure under Gerrard, averaging 1.1 tackles and 0.9 interceptions per 90 minutes in the league during the 2020/21 season.
WhoScored has no data for his number of tackles per game this term, while the Finland international’s level of interceptions has dropped significantly to 0.3, highlighting a potential drop-off in form.
The number of key passes the Arsenal academy graduate played during Beale’s last full season in Glasgow was also twice as high as they are at present.
With a contract running until 2025, Ross Wilson could negotiate a considerable figure if the 48-cap star wished to depart, but perhaps Van Bronckhorst’s dismissal will give Kamara a new lease of life and he can rediscover his form under the new manager.
