Former Rangers player Ian Ferguson would be open to the idea of a familiar face taking over as manager.
On Monday morning the Glasgow giants announced that they had sacked Giovanni van Bronckhorst with the club nine points off rivals Celtic at the top of the table.
The QPR boss Beale is thought to be the Light Blues’ leading candidate to fill the vacant hot seat.
Formerly an assistant at Ibrox under Steven Gerrard as they delivered the club’s 55th league title, a return to be the main man could be on the cards and Ferguson wouldn’t oppose the idea.
Speaking to PLZ Soccer he said:
(8:51) “There’s been a few names mentioned in the press. Michael Beale obviously had been a very successful coach here with Steven Gerrard.
“His name’s been put in the frame. If he wanted it again I wouldn’t mind seeing him taking charge of the club.
“But I wouldn’t hazard a guess there’ll be a lot of people who will be interested in this position to be the manager of Glasgow Rangers so it will be interesting to see whose name unfolds in the next few days.”

The 42-year-old has already gained admiration down south with him turning down the chance to take over at Wolves earlier in the season.
The R’s were top of the Championship when those talks arose and although the west London club’s form had faltered heading into the mid-season break, Beale still has the side firmly in the hunt for promotion.
He certainly is making a name for himself but it will be interesting to see if the officials at Auchenhowie will appoint an up-and-coming coach.
