Presenter John McGinley has expressed his excitement after Celtic announced the transfer of Yuki Kobayashi who will join this winter.

While the World Cup takes place in Qatar, back in Scotland it seems as though those who pull the strings for the Hoops have been working hard at bolstering the squad ahead of the second half of the season.

Indeed, earlier this week Celtic officially announced that Kobayashi would be signing a five-year contract after leaving J-League club Vissel Kobe.

The 22-year central defender can join up with his teammates at the start of December and will be able to play competitively when the transfer market opens in January.

While reacting to the news on Twitter, McGinley made clear how happy he was with the deal, writing: “We never stop.”

TIF thoughts on Yuki Kobayashi and Celtic…

The young defender is a Japan U21 international but is yet to represent his country at a senior level and so was not picked to play any part in the World Cup this winter.

Had he done so, he would have had the chance to link up with Celtic teammate Daizen Maeda who has travelled to Qatar. As it is, come December, he will at least be able to meet Kyogo Furuhashi, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi who were all left at home.

He may still only be 22, but Kobayashi may well expect to establish himself as a regular in the Bhoys’ set-up soon after arriving. After all, despite his age, he has already played for Vissel Kobe 78 times.

We can’t compete with any team in epl money wise but for a player that wants to be playing in front of a potential 60,000 supporters most home games play in Europe every season Abe part of a club that’s known world wide you don’t realise the size of this club till your part of it one downside we are stuck in a small league but you go out to win every game attacking football is our way draws are just like a loss
