Presenter Ryan McGinlay has praised senior Celtic figures Ange Postecoglou, Mark Lawwell and Michael Nicholson for their reported approach to the upcoming transfer market.

As we head towards the winter break ahead of the 2022 World Cup, the Bhoys can consider themselves to be in a pretty good place. Although their Champions League exploits have fizzled out, their Scottish Premiership ambitions are still high as they top the table.

Even so, the club will likely want to strengthen in the January transfer window, and it seems as though the club have already confirmed plans for what they hope to achieve.

Indeed, according to Celtic reporter John McGinley, Postecoglou ‘believes the bulk of Celtic’s January transfer planning has been completed’ and those within the club may now use the World Cup break to ‘plan ahead for the summer 2023 window’.

Evidently impressed by this claim, McGinlay took to Twitter to praise the Celtic executives, writing: “Purely from the outside looking in, Ange, Mark Lawwell and Michael Nicholson are doing a great job with regards to forward planning and transfer strategy. I’m impressed.

“Celtic are acting like the big club that they are and it’s great to see as a supporter!”

TIF Thoughts on Celtic and their transfers…

According to recent reports from Japan (via Daily Mail), Vissel Kobe defender Yuki Kobayashi is one name that already looks set to sign this winter. If those reports are accurate, Celtic really are set to make a fast start to the window.

It remains to be seen as to who else they may target over the coming weeks and months, but it certainly is good news if they have figured out exactly what they hope to achieve.

They were certainly busy last January as the Bhoys landed the likes of Matt O’Riley, Reo Hatate, Yosuke Ideguchi and Daizen Maeda, so if this window is anything like that, it could be an exciting time for the club.
