Tam McManus believes that Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou will not leave the club to potentially replace Frank Lampard in the future at Everton.
The ex-Celtic man spoke to Football Insider, on the possibility of the Australian leaving Celtic Park to join the Toffees.
Postecoglou has already picked up a couple of trophies with the Hoops since he took charge in the summer of 2021. He’s won the Scottish League Cup and the Scottish Premiership with Celtic, last season.
Everton on the other hand sit just outside the bottom three, winning only one of their last five league matches. However, despite this worrying start, one report claims the Toffees board are still backing manager Frank Lampard to turn things around.
McManus believes that Postecoglou has unfinished business with Celtic and may be looking to win the treble this season. Furthermore, this will allow them to have a better go in Europe next season.
He stated, “As I have said before, I think Ange is quite happy with the project he has going at Celtic. He has a lot of work to do.
“I think he wants to win the treble this year and use that as a platform to strengthen in the summer before going and having a better crack at Europe next season.
“I understand why he has been linked, he is doing really, really well. But I don’t see him leaving Celtic to go to Everton or anywhere else right now.”

We believe that the chances of Postecoglou heading to Everton any time soon are pretty unlikely. Firstly, the previously mentioned report suggests the Everton board want to give Lampard time.
So, the Toffees going in and attempting to take the Australian away from Celtic Park will probably not happen during the World Cup break.
In addition, should Lampard be sacked later down the line, Everton could well opt for a manager with Premier League experience. He’s done well at Celtic, but Postecoglou is yet to manage a Premier League side.
Furthermore, it would be a massive gamble for the 57-year-old to take the Everton job. With the Toffees in 17th place currently, the pressure would be on to keep them up. Also, if he continues with Celtic, he has a much better chance of managing in European competitions.
And we have all seen how Steven Gerrard struggled since leaving Scotland to manage in the Premier League.
