Wolverhampton Wanderers owners Fosun are planning on bringing in new signings to the club in January, in order for the club to have a different mentality for the rest of the season.
That is according to Dean Jones, who was speaking to This is Futbol about the latest transfer news from Molineux.
Head coach Julen Lopetegui has taken charge of the club this week with Wolves currently sitting bottom of the Premier League table, as the competition breaks for the World Cup.
According to The Telegraph’s John Percy the new manager will be given the backing in the January transfer window to turn the club’s fortunes heading into the second-half of the season.
And Jones believes that Fosun are planning to add to the squad with Lopetegui likely to “change the vibe” of the dressing room as it stands.
“They’re going to bring in new signings, they know Lopetegui is going to change the vibe of the squad, he’s going to bring a new mentality to the entire football club.
“And they believe that they will not be relegated and that is the mentality they have to have.”
TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments…
We think that it should be a given that Fosun will dip into the transfer market this January, with Wolves in need of attacking reinforcements this season, having scored just eight goals in the Premier League this season, unsurprisingly the worst record in the league.
It seems that January could be decisive in Wolves’ Premier League future and with good backing from Fosun, Lopetegui will hope that they can secure a comfortable survival in the top-flight, and look ahead to brighter times from next season.
