ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United midfielder Lucas Paqueta will be back in the squad today after his recent injury.

Back in late October, the Brazilian suffered a nasty shoulder injury that initially looked to threaten his hopes of going to the 2022 World Cup.

As a result, he has not played for West Ham – or even made the bench – since the 1-1 away draw at Southampton on October 16. However, it looks as though Paqueta is now fit once more.

Indeed, in a post shared on The West Ham Way Patreon page, Ex revealed that the former Lyon man is back in the team to face Crystal Palace and could even start the Premier League match.

He said: “The big news is that record-signing Brazilian midfielder Lucas Paqueta is back in the squad following his collarbone injury and could come straight into the starting eleven today.”

TIF Thoughts on Lucas Paqueta and West Ham…

The Hammers lost last time out in the league – falling to a 1-0 away defeat against Manchester United – and so will be desperate to get back to winning ways with this upcoming home game against the Eagles.

They come into the match, two points behind Palace despite having played one more game, and so will not want to drop points against a rival team in the middle of the division.

With that in mind, David Moyes will no doubt be delighted to have the man who arrived in the summer for a club-record £51m fee fit and ready to go. Of course, he may not risk Paqueta from the start but it’s certainly a big boost to have that option available.

Perhaps today is the day the Brazilian manages to score his first goal in West Ham colours.
